Introduction
This five-day course develops practical English skills used in clinical care. It focuses on patient interviews, clear documentation, handovers, and explaining care to patients and families. Participants work with real scenarios and structured practice to build confidence and reduce communication errors.
Objectives
1. Take and record a patient history using structured, patient-centred questions.
2. Perform concise, safe handovers using SBAR or similar frameworks.
3. Write clear nursing notes, medication records, and discharge or progress summaries.
4. Explain diagnoses, treatments, and medication instructions to patients and families in plain, non-technical English.
5. Participate effectively in ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings, asking and answering clinical questions.

- Participants are expected to engage in guided self-study, reading, or personal reflection on the day’s content. This contributes toward the CPD accreditation and deepens conceptual understanding.

- All training sessions are conducted from Monday to Friday, following the standard working week observed in the United Kingdom and European Union. Saturday and Sunday are official weekends and are not counted as part of the course duration.
